Avid X : Hey Candyman. Can you tell me a bit about yourself? Candyman: Hey Avid - well I'm a 20 year old gamer originally from London, now studying for a degree at the University of Exeter in South West England. I've been a keen gamer since a very early age - I started out with PC games like Doom, Commander Keen and the Seventh Guest - then picked up a PS2, Xbox, PSP and eventually a 360.
Avid X : Can you tell me about some of your websites? Candyman: Currently I only run three - MyXbox360.com, BigFatArcade.com and VivaPinataForum.com. I used to look after a lot more, but had to send them to new homes to focus on my current few. Obviously, my focus is on the Viva Piņata forum right now as the game has just launched!
Avid X : Being a 20 year old male what attracted you the most to Viva Piņata and why did you decide to create a website for it? Candyman: Well, let me start by saying that age has nothing to do with the enjoyment of Viva Piņata. I've been fascinated with it from the day it was announced, and I know people from all ages who share that view. I love simulation and strategy titles, and the kind of Pokémon creature-collecting was great fun back in the day. Viva Piņata looks to rekindle that kind of fun while also creating a whole new gaming experience. I decided to create a website for it simply due to the fact that it's such a positive game. I instantly decided that it would be a perfect game to build a community around, and I think I was right!
Avid X : You were definitely right, I cant believe how many members have been logged into your forum at one given time. Do you think the Viva Piņata community will be one that will withstand time? Candyman: I certainly do. I believe that the game has great longevity, and still definitely hold the attention of gamers for the foreseeable future. Viva Piņata has amazing scope for Xbox Live functionality, and I personally can't wait for garden viewing and cooperative modes. The game is what you make of it, and the freedom of expression will keep people experimenting until the early hours!
Avid X : Are there any other specific games you are looking forward to? Candyman: Well, I'm still anticipating Viva Piņata, as it doesn't reach the UK until early December. Then there's the awesome Gears of War, which I hope to pick up shortly. Looking a little further ahead, the likes of GTA4, Assassin's Creed, Elveon and Spore are of definite interest. I am also excited about picking up a Nintendo Wii this Christmas.
Avid X : Well thank you for your time Candyman ! I appreciate the interview. Candyman: Thanks very much Avid!
